Scholarships

We believe that education is an important part of the success of our communities. We are proud to support our youth by helping them reach their goals through our scholarships:

  • Two $1000 scholarships are available to students graduating high school.

  • One $1000 scholarship is available to post-secondary students returning to school.

High School




ELIGIBILITY

Recipients of the Churchbridge Credit Union High School Scholarship will be chosen based on the following eligibility requirements and selection process:

  • Must be a member of the Churchbridge Credit Union or have a parent that has been a member for at least one year.
  • Preference will be given to a student enrolling in Business, Business Administration, Business Ag, Commerce, Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, Information Technology, Marketing or Agriculture in the fall of 2025, however, all courses will be considered.
  • A copy of the applicants high school transcript will be required.

SELECTION
  • The recipient of the scholarship will be determined by the Churchbridge Credit Union selection committee.
  • The recipient will be chosen based on their demonstration of community involvement, extra-curricular activities, integrity, leadership, volunteer work, academic achievement, and financial need.
  • Scholarship recipients may have their name, photograph, and essay published in the Churchbridge Credit Union newsletter, on the Churchbridge Credit Union website, in-branch, and on the Churchbridge Credit Union social media pages. 
  • Applications will be accepted until May 31 of each year and the recipients will be notified when the selection has been made.

Post-Secondary



ELIGIBILITY


Recipients of the Churchbridge Credit Union Post-Secondary Scholarship will be chosen based on the following eligibility requirements and selection process:

  • Must be a member of the Churchbridge Credit Union or have a parent that has been a member for at least one year;
  • Candidate must have completed one year at a post-secondary institution and must be returning to post-secondary within the same calendar year.  Qualifying post-secondary institutions are any University, Institute of Applied Science and Technology, and/or Business College. Proof of acceptance, proof of enrolment, and proof of full-time equivalence into a post-secondary institution will be required;
  • Preference will be given to those enrolled in Business, Business Administration, Business Ag, Commerce, Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, Information Technology, Marketing or Agriculture in the fall of 2024; however, all courses will be considered;
  • Complete an essay of approximately 500 words on the following topic: Explain why credit unions are now, more than ever, relevant in today’s society.

SELECTION
  • The recipient of the scholarship will be determined by the Churchbridge Credit Union selection committee.
  • The recipient will be chosen based on the recipient’s demonstration of community involvement, extra-curricular activities, integrity, leadership, volunteer work, academic achievement, financial need and essay quality.
  • Scholarship recipients may have their name, photograph, and essay published in the Churchbridge Credit Union newsletter, on the Churchbridge Credit Union website, in-branch, and on the Churchbridge Credit Union social media pages.
